Who we are
The Kāhōkūkeʻalakaʻi Foundation is a Native Hawaiian-led nonprofit dedicated to honoring legacy, uplifting community, and protecting the land for future generations. Rooted in aloha ʻāina and cultural stewardship, we believe in the power of connection—between people, place, and purpose.
Our foundation was born from grief, love, and a desire to continue the work of someone who lived to serve others. Today, we carry that torch by offering programs that focus on cultural preservation, environmental care, youth mentorship, and healing through community outreach.
We serve with humility and heart, embracing the values passed down through generations. Whether we’re cleaning beaches, distributing school supplies, supporting mental health, or creating space for youth to rise—our mission is always the same: to be a guiding light for others, just as our namesake Kāhōkūkeʻalakaʻi—the guiding star—reminds us to be.
